SUPER FOOD RECIPES:
FRESH SEASONED TACOS:

SUMMARY:

This dish is often a family favorite because its variety of flavors and ability to be customized to various diets and preferences. Whether its filled with hearty steak, or maybe you're watching you're calories with chicken or perhaps its vegetarian dish with seasoned mushrooms? Either way there is a great taste for everyone and these tacos are sure to please a crowd. This particular recipe calls for a good lean steak but keep in mind with this versatile meal you can make adjustments to your preference and enjoy just about any filling you desire. The fresh herbs, fruits and vegetables takes this meal from boring to party time so, don't forget to pick up the these fresh ingredients from your local grocery on you're way home and have fun cooking right in your own kitchen.

INGREDIENTS:

4-5 Tacos (however, tortilla recipe accounts for 8 tortilla's)

1 x 6-8 ounce Steak (or 2 small Strip steaks) (Also, try with Avocado for a no meat diet or Chicken breast as an optional protein source.)

Apple Cider Vinegar

Red Onion or Yellow Onion

Cilantro and/or Parsley

Tomatillo and/or Tomato 

Lemon or Lime

Twealth Co's Vitamin Infused Oil (Alt: Your Choice of Oil such as Extra Virgin Olive)

Twealth Co's Savory Seasoning (Alt: Salt and Pepper)

Salt, Pepper (Alt: Salt)

All Purpose Flour 

Filtered Water

Optional: Butter

INSTRUCTIONS:

​

Tortillas:​

- In a large bowl, combine 3/4 flour and half teaspoon of Salt and Pepper. Stir in water and 3 tablespoons of Oil.

- Turn onto a floured surface; knead 10-12 times, adding a little flour or water if needed to achieve a smooth dough.

- Let rest for 10 minutes.

- Divide dough into 8 portions.

- On a lightly floured surface, roll each portion into a 7 inch circle.

- In a greased (using oil or butter) cast-iron or other heavy skillet, cook tortillas over medium heat until lightly browned, about 1 minute on each side.

Steak: 

- Thoroughly wash meat, fruit and vegetables with water (optional: clean with lemon).

- Then, place the cleaned Steak(s) in a bowl with Apple Cider Vinegar. Using a fork make about 6 holes in the steak and let marinate for 3-5 minutes.

- Drain the Apple Cider Vinegar and season the meat using Savory Seasoning.

- Place a frying pan or skillet on a stove on medium to high heat and add Oil to the coat the bottom of the pan/skillet. 

- Optional: Chop a red or yellow onion in half and slice into thin even strips. Add salt to the sliced onion and add to pan with steak(s). (Save the other half of onion for later)

- Optional with caramelized Onions: Add a 2-3 tablespoons of water and move around onion to keep from over cooking or burning. Remove after 2-3 minutes.

- Place the Steak(s) in the pan and cook on one side for 3-4 minutes.  Then turn Steak(s) over and let cook for 3-4 minutes or until steaks have a light pink center. 

- Remove Steak(s) from pan and let cool to warm or room temperature.

- Slice in strips or dice into bite size pieces and add chopped Cilantro and herbs.

Salsa:

- Ensure tomatillos are thoroughly cleaned and ripe.

- Dice cleaned large onion into small pieces (using a half of onion or whole onion depending on how much zing you prefer.)

- Dice 3-4 cleaned tomatillos and/or one large tomato into small pieces and add chopped Cilantro and/or Parsley to the mix. 

- Combine all ingredients into a bowl with a squeeze of lime/lemon.

- Then add a half teaspoon of Savory Seasoning and mix. 

- Once everything is cooked and mixed, place the Steak strips/bites in a tortilla add salsa and fresh squeezed lime/lemon on top. 

*Serve warm paired with black beans and corn or on its own.

GREEN ICE SMOOTHIE

SUMMARY:

Hydrating, refreshing, delicious and nutritious this drink is great for cooling off and getting a good burst of energy. This green smoothie recipe can help improve memory and concentration. This drink has many nutritional benefits including preventing cancer, reducing blood sugar, aids in good bone health, weight loss, good for eyesight, reduces hypertension, it has anti-inflammatory properties and helps keep your body relaxed. Packed with fiber, potassium and other vitamins you can enjoy this drink for a daily dose of healthy sweetness without the refined sugars or ordinary salads. On the go or just relaxing this smoothie has the fruit and vegetables needed for greatness.

INGREDIENTS:

2-3 Servings

Spinach

Kale and/or Spirulina

Honey Dew Melon and/or Pineapple

Oil (Avocado or Flaxseed Oil)

Honey 

Ice Cubes

Optional: Ginger, Banana, Mango

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

- Thoroughly wash all fruits and vegetables with water.

- Add at least one hand full of Spinach, Kale and/or Spirulina each to a 20-24 ounce blending cup. 

- Then add 3-5 chunks of sliced fresh Honey Dew Melon and/or diced pineapples to the blending cup.

- Pour in 1-2 Tablespoons of Oil. 

- Add 3-5 Tablespoons of Honey.

- Blend to your preference (This is the first blend out of 2) 

- Add at least a half cup of ice or 5 large cubes of ice.

- Add any additional optional items you prefer such as grated Ginger and sliced Banana.

- Blend again until texture and consistency is to your preference.

*Serve cool for a refreshing drink. 

TENDER FRESH SALMON:

SUMMARY:

Salmon has been known to aid in weight control and lower heart disease risk, and it also may support thyroid health due to high selenium content. This meal can help increase white blood cells in the body also due to its high selenium content and it can prevent heart disease due to high levels of omega-3 fatty acids. While Spinach may decrease oxidative stress, improve eye health, and help prevent heart disease and cancer. A splash of fresh lemon which contain a high amount of vitamin C and lemons may aid weight loss and reduce the risk of heart disease, anemia, kidney stones, digestive issues, and cancer. Needless to say this dish can have you looking good and feeling great. If you are looking to boost your health with a bit of freshness this dish may be perfect for you.

INGREDIENTS:

Salmon Steak

Parsley

Lemon

Spinach

Fresh Lemon Wedge

Oil (Alt: Your Choice of Oil such as Extra Virgin Olive Oil)

Savory Seasoning (Alt: Salt and Pepper)

Sweet Seasoning ( Alt: Brown Sugar)

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

Salmon:

- Thoroughly wash the Salmon with clean water and cut to 3-4 ounces.

- Wash the Spinach and lemon with clean water. 

- Add a pinch of Savory Seasoning and Sweet Seasoning on top of the Salmon. 

- Place the Salmon in the non-stick pan.

- Base a small amount of water to the bottom of the pan and add a tablespoon of Oil to the bottom of the pan. 

- Place the pan of Salmon on the stove top on medium heat OR cover with aluminum foil and bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes. 

- Cover the pan with a lid and let cook for 4-5 minutes on stove top, medium heat or until center is soft and moist but not raw. 

- Optional: Once cooked to preference drizzle Salmon with fresh lemon and herbs.

Spinach: 

- Add water to a clean pan and add enough water to cover the bottom of the pan.

- Add a teaspoon of Twealth Co's Vitamin Infused Oil to the water. 

- Add the Spinach to the pan and place the lid on. 

- Let Spinach cook for 3-4 minutes on medium heat or until Spinach leaves are tender.

- Drain water from pan and add Twealth Co's Savory Seasoning to the Spinach.

Plate:

- Plate the Salmon and Spinach 

- Squeeze a fresh lemon wedge over the Salmon and Spinach for freshness.   

*Serve fresh and warm.
